I did not wake up in the mood to work this morning. I have meetings, follow ups, and all the important stuff to work on my business.

I simply did not wake up in the mood to work. I have allergies. It was a long weekend and the kids were up all night not feeling well, BUT I remembered a quote from a book that I read called The War of Art. It was a great read about sitting down and getting the important work done. Someone had asked the writer if he only wrote when he was in the mood, and he said:

"Yes, I only write when I'm in the mood, but luckily, the mood hits me every day at 9:00 AM."

This was him saying you have to GET YOURSELF IN THE MOOD TO DO THE IMPORTANT WORK EVERYDAY.

That resonated with me this morning. Itโ€™s easy to be excited to work on your business when youโ€™re in the mood, but can you make yourself do the important things to grow when youโ€™re not in the mood? Prospecting when youโ€™re not feeling great? Building your database when youโ€™re not feeling energized? Maybe youโ€™re distracted with a beautiful summer day and want that long weekend?

The bottom line is we have to find a way to put yourself in the mood for the important things you need to do OR at the very least, ACT LIKE IT when youโ€™re not in the mood.

I am thankful for this reminder this morning as I was not feeling great, but knew I had important stuff to do. It would have been easy to cancel or make excuses, but I found a way to put myself in the mood to get the important stuff done and not just wait until I felt inspired, or wait until I had the energy or excitement.

So I highly suggest the book, โ€œThe War of Artโ€ by Steven Pressfield and get ready to put yourself in the position to execute the things that you know will move you forward.

Have a great day! Weโ€™ll see you later.
